I love that women are starting to embrace lifting weights. I mean, who was it that said weights would make you bulky anyway? They clearly didn’t want women dominating the weight room (insert: fist pump). Jokes aside, resistance training (weights) makes you strong and builds lean muscle, which is the tissue that burns away fat. So you shouldn’t be afraid of picking up a few dumbbells or doing a couple of deadlifts either. But for anyone who’s starting out, there are a few things to know about the weight game.
