The Food Standards Agency ordered the 235ml bottles to be recalled after the dressing was found to contain egg, despite it not being declared on the ingredients list.
An FSA spokesman said: “The supplier of Mary Berry’s Salad Dressing has identified that another product with egg as an ingredient has been filled and labelled as the above product.
“This makes it unsuitable for people with a sensitivity to egg. As a precautionary measure, the product is being recalled.”
The FSA said people with a sensitivity to eggs should call 01494 895507 to arrange for a replacement to be sent out.
Consumers can also return the dressing to supermarkets for a full refund.
A spokesman for distributor RH Amar said: “Whilst we deeply regret the inconvenience caused to consumers, we remain confident of the production controls in place at our manufacturing site.
“We are carrying out a full internal investigation.”
